Newly shorn

I recently got a haircut (eight inches gone!) and while we usually just trim Ethan's hair every other week Bob decided to give him a major makeover.

Bob on the other hand is keeping his hair long enough for all three of us. He has been waiting to get it cut this week when he goes to Singapore. Here is my scruffy cutie!

Inspiration Lake

Last weekend we went to Inspiration Lake which is part of Disneyland. It's free, open daily, and only a 15 minute walk from the Disney MTR station (although with the actual theme park being right there I guess most people would bypass this outdoor park). I was actually surprised with how big the park was - there is the lake itself where you can rent paddle boats, a kids playground, and lots and lots of green space with actual real grass! that you can picnic in or you can also rent out bikes to ride along the paths with.

The Disney train was super cute, and had Mickey Mouse shaped windows/handles and statues of the Disney characters on display:

First Friends

We attend a playgroup called First Friends once a week on Wednesdays. Ethan usually just likes to do his own thing, but lately there is this one little girl that has taken to following him around. I think she really wants to play with him but Ethan is just way more focused on the different toys that he usually never gets to see. Or maybe he thinks she just keeps wanting to take away his toys. Yesterday after she came over one too many times, Ethan decided to give her his scrunchie face!

More from Phuket

I used to use two laptops - one that has data and files leading back to college years but which I primarily just use these days for web surfing =P and the other that I just started using to keep all our photos and do photo editing (takes a lot of data space!). Bob just combined them both for me into yet another laptop (aka, the supercomputer!). Well, in the process I just found a whole folder of missing pictures that I overlooked from our trip to Phuket. I'm sure everyone needs to see more pictures aside from the gazillion I already posted, but too bad. Here they are!

Daddy Abuse

Sometimes Ethan likes to run around by himself. Sometimes he likes to be carried around. Sometimes he likes to be carried around the ENTIRE time we are out and about. Who needs to lift weights when you get to carry a 25 lber for hours at a time? When Bob and I are out together Bob tries his best to help out and asks Ethan if Daddy can bao bao him instead of Mommy. Ethan has flipped it and now likes the tease Bob whenever we all go out:

E (randomly as we are walking about): How bout Daddy bao bao?
B (trying to take Ethan from me): Sure! Daddy will bao bao.
E: No No No No No!

a pause.

E: Daddy sad. How come Daddy sad?

Don't get me wrong. Ethan loves his Daddy. If he hears anything like the sound of a door opening he will jump up beaming and make a run for the door to find his Daddy.

Futzing around at home

Ethan has decided he would rather wear our clothes. He couldn't walk around because the jacket was too long, but would periodically lift his foot and announce 'Feet caught!' but still refused to take the jacket off:

Our rugrat loves playing in the shower even when not actually taking a shower. No, he did not draw the cat - but see the squiggles below the cat? Pure artistry!

He liked this dog advertisement from a magazine so much we taped it on the wall. He will go up to it and kiss it everyday.

Elephant Rides

While in Phuket we did get a chance to see some elephants and actually ride one.

Phuket

We met up with some of our friends in Phuket. It was was sunny and hot and a good break from the freezing cold we have been experiencing in Hong Kong. Of course right when we got back to HK it turned ridiculously hot and humid so it's like we never left. =P

We spent every day just lounging at our hotel. We stayed at the JW Marriott:
