Candy Making

Over Christmas we decided to make some winter themed chocolates. Ethan wasn't really interested in the candy making process. In fact, he abandoned the effort early on by declaring a lunch break and idly watched us make the chocolates while munching on a banana.

However once he realized the finished product was edible (and delicious!) he perked up quickly. He was very generous and offered bites of his piece of chocolate to Mommy and Daddy...until it was all gone and he found that no more chocolate was forth coming. Meltdown! Good thing a cracker was deemed just as acceptable and he was happily munching away once again.

Are all these for me?
That was yummy. Can I have more?

What do you mean they are all gone?

Sanrio Village

We took Ethan to see the Sanrio Village today. Okay, we really decided to go shopping and happened to have stumbled upon the village at the mall. The lines were so long however that we didn't actually make it inside the village to see all the characters, but we did manage to meet Hello Kitty and Badtz Maru.

Ethan loves Hello Kitty or 'Meow-me' (Chinese for cat) as he calls her. Unlike meeting Santa, he was really excited. He kept waving Hi while we were waiting in line and when we got to meet her, he grabbed her hands and poked her nose a couple of times. We had to tear him away as he kept yelling 'Bye Meow-me! Byeeeee!'.

Ethan also liked playing in the cars at the mall. He gave us a pout when we told him we had to leave.

The art of making oneself dizzy

Ethan recently discovered that these manhole covers will move and wobble if you step on it. Now everytime he sees one he will go 'wobble wobble'.

Work is the new play

Poor baby. I make him wear ridiculous outfits, I post embarrassing photos and stories of him for the world to see and now at the ripe old age of one we have already started chores.

The hot new toy in this house is the mop. His beloved umbrella is now second, probably only because we keep it hidden until it's needed.

The Many Faces of Ethan

Okay, Ethan may never forgive me for posting this but I couldn't help but find it funny. Bob's parents took these pictures when they came out to visit this past week.

It's Ethan...no it's Bob...or is it Ethan?

The left hand side is Bob as a baby, and Ethan is on the right. It is like they are identical.

And a picture of me as a baby just for kicks.
