San Diego with Friends

The best part of our vacation of course was seeing our friends!  I'm so glad everyone was able to take time off and meet up in SD.  It's almost been two years since we last saw everyone which is way too long.  And it was so fun to see all the little ones...I still can't believe we are all grown up and have our own families now.

Meeting K for the well, second time. The first was when Ethan was only 2 months old though so this was really like the first official time. K is sweet and friendly and tried to hold Ethan's hand several times throughout the week...but I think Ethan was feeling a bit shy. We better meet up more often than every two years so next time I'm sure it will be Ethan chasing K around!

E is super cute and says the cutest things. Like explaining patiently to me how flying squirrels are the heroes of the sky.

A was squealing with delight the whole time. He is the most energetic happy little boy I know.

And this last picture is for Angela. FREAN! Who once walked down the entire Mem. Drive with her arm thrown over her head in a bid to embarrass me. Ethan's got my back! Of course his arm doesn't quite reach across over his head yet. Hmmm.

San Diego

We just got back from vacation in sunny San Diego.  I miss everything about the US!  Driving, uncrowded malls and stores, the pleasant weather, wide open grassy places, inexpensive local fresh organic produce.  HK is pretty cool too but I am super excited to be going back to the states.  But the best part of San Diego is seeing our friends and their little ones - some for the very first time (I'll save this for a different post)!  Our week in pictures:

But the number one thing that Ethan liked to do was just chill out and play in the front of a real (don't worry it was parked!) car. He snubs our golf cart back at home now. All in all the trip was great fun. Jet-lag was not. We did eventually co-sleep while on vacation, which is Bob's dream, but on the return Ethan missed his own crib so much he ran for it and started laughing when he got inside.
