E is a big fan of noodles: pho, ramen, spaghetti, chow mein. You name it, he will eat it.

Feeling better...
Only halfway through our course of antibiotics but everyone is feeling much better now. Ethan still has a pretty bad cough and stuffy nose but he seems to be in good spirits. Everything is better now that Bob is home. =)

Oh Noes!
Poor Ethan caught pneumonia too! He has been sick the last two weeks (low grade fever, running nose, wheezing) and his cough was getting progressively worse so even though the doctor originally said they would not prefer to use antibiotics, our poor bub is now on them. The last two nights have been been horrible. It's so sad holding your poor baby when he is wheezing and can't breathe or cough up the ickiness in his throat. And it's also sad for the Mommy who now has a permanent crick in her neck since she has to slant her head so that E can fit snugly on her shoulder as she rocks him the whole night long. We need Daddy to come home!

You know that saying from Coco Chanel how you should always take one accessory off before you leave the house? Well Ethan says ptooey to that.

iheartfaces fix-it-friday #67
Original:
Color Edit:
-Increased temperature, clarity, exposure, vibrance, sharpness
(sorry, I'm too lazy this week to post the actual values I used. I caught a bug and got sick with the flu which was followed by pneumonia! Who gets pneumonia anyways? I'm just being a dramatic though since I feel loads better already. Thank goodness for antibiotics.)

Sound bites
After finding E holding a piece of orange up to his nose:
Me: Whatcha doing? Are you smelling the orange?
E: No. Orange is picking my nose.
And E again after someone toots.
E: Whoa. That was a big fart. A ginormous one!

Puppetting
We got a puppet for Ethan last year:
He never really got that into it but recently he dug it out of his toy box. I started playing around with it and animated it for him with my hand. He looked at me curiously, then placed the puppet on his own hand and said in a falsetto voice 'I'm a chin wah (frog). I'm a good boy." The puppet then gave me a kiss. *so cute!* He will now puppeteer for my benefit a few minutes a day. We will see how long this lasts.

There was something funny going on with the bottom of his lip but I couldn't figure out how to fix it.

First big ouchie.
Ethan got his first major ouchie today. Lately E is really into wallets (well, only his Daddy's) and likes to play with the money (if we let him!) and credit cards. Only two years old and already he knows what makes the world go round. He was taking out the credit cards and putting them back into the wallet and somehow in the process manged to cut open his eyelid with one of the cards. Major bleeding, a few tears and a trip to the doctor's ensued. Poor baby.
Showing off his cool bandaid.
And playing some more with the culprit of all the drama.

2 Year Stats
I know. A boring post. This is just for my records because I never started my baby book and let's face it probably will never get around to it at this point. All of Ethan's stats are either in this blog or on an excel spreadsheet somewhere!
Height: 35 inches
Weight: 12.3 kg (27 pounds)
Ethan still remembers the Dr.'s office from last time and was NOT thrilled about going. He got another vaccine at this visit, the poor thing. The good news is that no more appointments until he is three! Wow, that seems like such a long time.

Happy Birthday!
Ethan is now two years old! I can't believe it. This time last year he was just starting to toddle a few steps and could only say a handful of words. He can now spout full sentences and is starting to sing (so cute!). His days are filled with running, kicking balls, and jumping around. Can we say we have an active toddler?
I can't believe how much difference a year can make. My boy is getting so big! I'm just trying to savour every moment and hope he doesn't grow up too fast. The things that make me the happiest are when he runs over to hold my hand or asks for a cuddle or lies down on my lap when we read a story. The joys of motherhood are in the simplest acts. I hope I can always make him feel better when he is feeling a bit down or sick, stay his friend as he grows older, teach him to be a kind, caring, good man. I hope he lives a great wonderful life full of love and happiness and joy. I love my little boy and family so much!
We had a Hungry Caterpillar theme for this year's party. It's one of Ethan's favorite books. Mike and my Dad added some personal drawings to the mix. =)
Ethan lit up when he saw the decorations.
My dad also set up a display of stuffed animals. Ethan immediately knocked over my dad's hard work.
We are so happy and thankful that our family could come out to celebrate with us!
Ethan is none to happy that we are about to eat his head.
The birthday boy only would taste the frosting on the cake. He promptly gave it a yuck face.
After the party E decided to get comfy by shedding his pants. He loved playing balloon catch with Nai Nai.
He also neglected his new gifts and instead wanted to just play with Daddy's wallet. We never usually let him handle the money so he was ecstatic to finally have access to it!
Here is a video of some highlights:
